SignupWrangler

Online sign-up sheets for volunteer shifts, kept in a Google Sheet you own.

SignupWrangler is a hobby project of its creator used only to manage volunteer signups for a single non-profit organization. Notwithstanding some of the trappings here of a commercial service, SignupWrangler is a non-commercial hobby project. This page and the Privacy Policy are public and open to everyone.

How it works

• The organizer keeps the schedule, the team list and the signups in a Google Sheet that they own. There is no separate database: the Sheet is the source of truth, and the organizer can read or edit it at any time.
• Volunteers open the organizer’s SignupWrangler page, see which shifts are still open, and take one. Their name and the shift are recorded in the Sheet.
• The organizer can optionally hide who has taken each shift, and can send a weekly email listing the open shifts.

How SignupWrangler uses your Google account

Organizers connect their Google account to SignupWrangler, which asks only for your email address and for access to the Google Sheets it creates or that you explicitly choose — not the rest of your Google Drive. It uses that access solely to read your schedule and record signups in your Sheet, and you can remove it at any time from your Google Account settings. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
